Overview
This 17-week*, full-time programme of study will help you develop your brickwork skills. You will learn how to plan, set out and build solid and cavity walls and structures. This course will provide you with industry-standard skills to work as a bricklayer.
What you will learn
You will learn the basics of construction. This includes the roles and responsibilities of various other trades and construction professionals. You will also learn about the documentation and methods of communication that are used within the construction industry.
Key areas covered are: solid brick and block walls and brick piers. You will interpret working drawings to set out masonry structures and gain practical experience of thin joint masonry and masonry cladding.
How you will be assessed
This is a full-time course.
You will be assessed in a number of different ways and receive regular feedback in reviews to guide your progress. Some of the ways in which your success will be measured are attendance, exams, online assessments, practical assessments and a portfolio of work.
